Just hanging out

Playing with her Little People House and Playground
This is the smile we get anytime she sees the camera...I love it
A big smile from my BIG boy (he corrects me anytime I call him my baby:( I told him he always be mommy's baby boy, he wasn't impressed)
I'm not sure we ever showed off our toy/TV/videos/books organization system down in the basement. It all came from Target (LOVE that store) and wasn't that hard to put together. Each piece is separate so you can design it for your space and needs. We like it and I just wanted to show off the one organized space in my house. Papers and 'stuff' is a whole other story that I hope to eventually get a handle on around here.

Nothing too exciting going on around here this week. We have seen both sets of grandparents and just basically been hanging around the house. Baylor is really getting big and I can see the little girl starting to emerge from my little baby...I guess that should make me sad b/c she's our last one (as long as everything keeps working like it should--we've passed our little "test" from the surgery), but I'm just looking forward to what life has ahead. Christian has grown into a tender hearted yet still rough and tumble (sometimes) little boy and I can't wait to see how Baylor grows in the coming months. Christian is in 'big boy' underwear all the time now and doing great!! We are far from tackling night time dryness, but I could care less about that battle right now. They each had well visits a few weeks ago and their stats are: Christian 43.5 in & 42 lbs (the nurse joked that he was almost a perfect square:)) and Baylor was somewhere between 32-34in & 27lbs. Both have huge heads (thanks to Daddy) and the doctor says we must be doing something right to have such big healthy kids (they are both in the 95+% in everything).
Summer has been fun but Christian is getting ready for school--he can't wait to be in the four year olds class!! We all need a little more routine I think. Baylor will miss him like crazy, but it will be good to have some 'girl time'. We start back to Music class in September--we've missed it.
Thanks for checking in and hope you have had a good week too!!
OHH...I almost forgot: I started off my week with my nose buried in the last Harry Potter. It was great...I cried near the end, but had a smile on my face by the last sentence. All in all I really enjoyed the book--even the seemingly never ending camping trip. I know some people thought the epilogue was a little too cheesy but who cares. I'm going to attempt an entire series reread in the coming months.

PARTY!!!

Kate and Javid (the oldest kids on the cul-de-sac) and Christian is peeking out under Javid's arm Christian and Josh (Nathan's big brother and a few months older than Christian)
The whole crew
Baylor, Becca (who is only 6 wks younger) and Natalie (Becca's big sister)
Wendy and her youngest son Nathan

Our cul-de-sac decided to throw our own party...no reason we just wanted to do something fun. Food was bought and grilled out in the street. Everybody brought some sides and drinks...it was a blast. We had pools out for the kids and even rented a moon walk (not as expensive when split between multiple families). That was fun for EVERYBODY. We all got our moneys worth watching Wendy do backflips:) We plan on doing it again only in a cooler month!

Meet Christian

First off I totally stole this from Elizabeth...kinda. I wrote down a conversation I had with him about a year ago on a previous post, but saw this on hers and wanted to do it again:) He loved answering all the questions and some of the answers make me laugh. Anyway here is my little interview with him last week:
Favorite Food: PB & J
Favorite color: blue/red & black/white (he said these like they belonged together)
Favorite sport: Baseball
Favorite person: Caitlyn (big surprise)
Favorite toy: Buzz Lightyear
Favorite thing to do with Daddy: go golfing
Favorite thing to do with Mommy: Play and snuggle
Favorite song: Jesus loves me
Favorite book: "How do Dinosaurs say good night?" and "How do Dinosaurs eat their food?"
(Both great books that help teach the correct way to behave--can currently be bought at Kohl's)
Favorite Movie: Peter Pan
Favorite TV show: Backyardigans
Favorite Shirt: CARS (with Mater and Lightning McQueen on it)
Favorite thing to do outside: play at the park
What do you want to be when you grow up: A Daddy (with 5 babies he says)
Favorite animal: Elephant (he loves going to the zoo)
Favorite thing to do with Baylor: Hug her and play with her
Favorite thing to do with Mim & Travis: ride with them (they both have cool cars)
Favorite thing about God: talking to him (praying about Mommy and Daddy he says)
Favorite place to visit: Ty's house
Biggest fear: Monsters and Dragons
When we were done he said "I want more questions Mommy", but I was all out. It's always neat to see how some answers are different day by day, but others tend to stay the same. I guess it is just his way of figuring out what he really likes. On the grow up question I asked him where he would go to work since most daddies don't get to stay home--He said "I want to help people"--talk about pulling at your heart!! Nothing would make me prouder, sweet boy.

The rest of the 4th

could it be true love?
bathing suit? who needs a bathing suit with this cute smile and big belly?!?!
Lookin' cool in his shades and floating in the pool

I never did post anything from our time at "the girlfriends" house. If you have been a reader of this blog long you know Christian and Caitlyn Green have 'professed their undying love' (not really, he just says she's his bestest girl friend and vice-versa) for each other. So we jumped at the chance to hang out there last Wednesday afternoon. Their new house is beautiful and they (and us lucky friends) are blessed to have a pool in the backyard:) The kids all had so much fun. MaryAnn's brother Wes, his wife Camille, Amy (MA's sister), Leoncio and Mariana (Amy's husband and little girl) were all there too and one of them got this great pic of both families.
Friends were many, the grill was hot and the pool was cold...what more could you ask for?

Fireworks

Baylor was okay with the first few
Christian gave a steady narration throughout the show...it was quite funny

Hope you get to see some pretty ones tonight! Christian and I are off to spend a little time at his girlfriends house:)

Happy 4th of July

The Statue of Liberty's little sister came for a visit
Don't I have the cutest little patriots?
Sharing ice cream with KayKay

Getting ready for the fireworks

We started off our celebration yesterday at the park with Nana and Papa. Nana took all the pics so I have none to share, but the kids had fun and Baylor says "Nana and Papa" all the time now. We continued last night with my parents at the Brentwood Country Club. Their was a pasta buffet with fireworks afterwards. Christian's hand may be permantely blue from his popsicle, but he loved every minute of it. Baylor wasn't too thrilled with the noise and is a little on the sickly side, (green runny nose) yuck!!!

Dream come true

My son has dreamed of this day ever since he got his new playmate...

playing chase with his sister!!! They have been going crazy this evening going around the island in the kitchen. The giggles and shouts have been so funny!!! They are both going to be good and tired tonight:)
This last pic shows you what a cheese Baylor is becoming. She saw the camera and sat down with this big smile. After 18 months she has fiqured out she might as well work with this crazy woman that always puts the camera in her face:)
