Cute Conversation

Background: Christian has been fixated on going back to "his condo" and the beach. We've had several different conversations about it over the past couple weeks.

Christian and I had the following conversation in the car the other day on the way to swim at the YMCA:

Christian: "Mommy, I want to go to my condo"

Me: "I wish we could, but we can't right now"

Christian: "I want to swim at my condo"

Me: "I know, but we get to swim at theY--we can't go to the beach right now"

Christian: "We need money?" (we told him a couple weeks ago that Daddy needed to make some more money before we could go back to the beach)

Me: "Yes, Daddy has to work some more and make more $$" (I went on to explain that we have spent lots of our money on bunk beds, couches and other new stuff for the house)

Christian: "Oh" (followed by a minute or so of silence) "Mommy, where's my money?"

Me: "In your fire truck bank at home"

Christian: "Can we use my money and go to beach?"

Me: "That's really sweet honey, but no you don't have enough money for us to go to the beach"

By this time we had reached the YMCA and the conversation dropped--but I couldn't believe that a 3 year old would think of using his $$ to go somewhere like that. I am constantly amazed at what comes out of his little mouth!!

BAYLOR on the other hand is just getting to where she is making sounds--she saves her best laughs for daddy and big brother:) She has also begun solid foods. We've made our way through carrots and sweet potatoes. Next comes squash and the green veggies. We've gone through all this to get to fruits so we can mix our cereal with it--She does not like cereal!! We're hoping the fruit will make her want to eat it.

What about me?

Baylor slept during most of the party but did pose for a couple pics. Uncle Willie and Pap-pa both enjoyed a snuggle with a quick change of clothes for Baylor in between because--as babies do--she spit up all over herself!! Maybe she'll start getting hair soon--it may not look like it, but it is getting thicker on the top:)

BUNK BEDS

Mommy, Daddy and both sets of grandparents bought Christian bunk beds for his birthday. He has done great so far and he has only bumped his head a few times:) The mattress are so comfy--He says "my new bed is so soft". We are a little jealous that his mattress feels better then ours--is something wrong when a three year old has a better bed then his parents?

Mim and Christian had a sleepover Sleeping in my new bed is so much fun

We played with train tables and tried to be a train, but our conducter fell down

Look at those yummy train pancakes

Mim and Travis bought me a baseball glove

Thomas Party

My big 3 year old with Sir Topham Hat
Publix makes AWESOME cakes and had this 3D one we just had to have
Christian loved his cake so much he didn't want to cut it

Of course we had a Thomas the Train party. My boy loves nothing more so it was easy to fiqure out what kind of party to have. We wanted to have it in the morning so we decided to have a Pancake Breakfast. We found train molds that we used to make train pancakes for the kids. The adults were treated to Jeff's special blueberry or buttermilk pancakes along with fruit and lil smokies. We all had so much fun (even if Jeff was stuck making so many pancakes--Thanks, sweetie!). So many friends and family were able to be there. Nana, Papa and Uncle Jeremy came along with Tex, KayKay and Mim--(future)Unlce Travis was able to be here too which was loads of fun (we did some wedding planning the few days before the party). Mam-ma, Pap-pa, Aunt Judy, Uncle Willie, Ryan and Mandy all drove down fom KY to there too--that was extra special and we loved getting to see them. TONS of our friends were here with their kiddos and even though a few special ones were missing we all had a great time.

Christian's eyes lit up when he saw his special cake and was excited to have all of Thomas' friends on the wall (a guy at my parents church painted some of the characters for us and they looked AWESOME). As we sang Happy Birthday I watched him get his special smile(you know those sweet ones you only see every once in awhile) and look around the room at everyone. You could tell he felt so special at that moment--it makes me tear up just thinking about it.When were going to cut the cake Christian said "Don't cut it Mommy", but he quickly changed his mind when we explained that no cutting meant no eating. When he opened his gifts he didn't even realize they were all his. Some of his friends bought him a water table(just like he has played with at their house) and he thought it was theirs. He was just kinda staring at it and then said "It for me?" and then got excited. I'm so glad he seems to appreciate these special times. Thank you to all who helped or just came to enjoy--the party was a huge success.

Christian is 3!

My little boy is now three...I really can't believe it. On Friday we went to see the Cars movie. It was the first day and we went to the very first showing...something special on THE day. KayKay took care of Baylor while we went to the movie. Our friends Caitlyn, Marshall, Carson and his sister Camille went with us--we had so much fun!! Christain really liked it and thanks to McDonald's we are starting a collection of the characters. Funny story from the day: If you know my father, you know he likes the saying "git er done". He has been teaching Christian to say it to the builder of their new house here in town...Well since Larry the Cable Guy does one of the voices in the movie they of course added that into his character. When "Mater" (the tow truck) says "Git er done" Christain starts saying it too. "he say Git er done Mommy" "He say it". It was really funny to hear this three year old recognize the line and I'm sure some people around us probably wondered why. Anyway--Christian spent the rest of the day playing with Mater (we went to McD's before the movie) and saying "Git er done--Mater says Git er done".

WHY?!?!

Why does my son think 5:30am is a good time to start the day? It is driving me crazy!!! We take him back to bed, but he only stays for 15-20min and he's back again. And all I do is lie there in frustration wondering why in the world can Jeff just roll over and go back to sleep. Baylor typically hears Christian so the party really begins!! I was dealing with the 6am even though I really miss the 6:30-7 o'clock days, but 5:30 is just ridiculous. We've tried closing his curtains to avoid some of the sunshine, but nothing seems to work. To top off the days frustrating start, I have to go all the way back to downtown Franklin this morning b/c the woman at Christian's haircut forgot to give me back my check card!!! I had half a cart of things at Target all rung up and ready when I realized it wasn't there...How embarassing. The hair cut place was closed by then so the reason for my trek to Franklin today. I have to stop myself because on top of all this I have two incredibly cute children, a great house and family/friends too numerous to count. What do I have to complain about? Sometimes you just want to, but I am really blessed and should be counting those blessings instead of the frustrations.

This week my sister and Travis will be here to start some wedding plans(today is one yaer until the big day) and we will be preparing for the big birthday party... It'll be crazy, but fun. We are having a Thomas the Train party and a pancake breakfast--with train shaped pancakes for the kids of course!! I can't wait--I wish the house would magically clean itself so I could focus on the fun stuff, Oh well.
