I decided that Baylor needed a play date with her friends. It is normally just her tagging along to whatever Christian is doing, but today I tried to make it more about about her. Ben, Drew (twins from her class), Jay, Luke and Caroline (all from church) came to our house this morning.
I am not normally a real crafty mom, but I had some left over from Christian's party so I let the mommies help the kids make some wiggly eyed pumpkins
The train table was the hit of the day...the boys all loved it and Baylor has been into choo choos for awhile now:) We all enjoyed the time together and hope to do it again soon
Last night was the first annual Pumpkin Carving night at our house. I haven't ever ventured here yet b/c I thought Christian was too young, but this year we did it. He thought the insides were pretty gross!! Baylor just thought it was funny to watch.

Class Party
Christian had his class Halloween Party yesterday. I was 'in charge' with help from 2 other fabulous moms. The kids all had fun. We had a simple game of toss the bean bags into the pumpkin (side note: the pumpkin used has been around since I was in the 4th grade!!) and a craft with foam pumpkins and wiggly eyes.
We got a pretty good group picture
'Peter Pan' showing off his pumpkin in the class pumpkin patch
Everyone got to trick or treat to Ms. Pats office
The class went around and told each other who they were pretending to be and then what their real names were. They have talked A LOT about what is real and what is pretend.

Trunk r Treat
Otter Creek hosts a Trunk-r-Treat every year that is lots of fun. The kids and adults alike enjoy dressing up and seeing one another. Until this past year when we moved into a neighborhood with more kids this was the only way Christian did Halloween, now we go to this AND around with our neighbors. This is a little silly but we have great friends in both places and want to enjoy the fun with everybody. Plus I have a secret you can't tell the kids--I've already taken most of the candy from last night to give out on Wednesday...Shhh!!
This year we (me) decided that the whole family would dress up. Baylor was Tinkerbell, Christian was Peter Pan, I was Wendy and Jeff got to dress up as Capt'n Hook. I have such a good husband...he rolls with the punches:) Christian was so excited that Mommy and Daddy were dressing up too!! We may have started something here...What can all 4 of us be next year?
Aren't these just the cutest kids?!?! So I may be a little bias, but they just melt my heart
The family

Nana, Papa, Uncle Jeremy, KayKay & Tex (we missed you Mim and Travis) were all there. It is fun to be able to share these times with both families. I know it's not the best pic in the world...You can see the outline of our friend Brian:)

Our first field trip
We had our first school field trip on Thursday. Christian's class went to Walden Farm for a little lesson in farming and animals. They went on a hayride, saw lots of animals, played in corn bins and picked out their own pumpkin. Below is the whole class
Christian, Anna Kate and Caitlyn have been best buds for a long time
Ms. Rita (our guide) is telling the kids all about cotton
Kobi, Cole, Christian and Marshall wait their turn to go through the hay maze
Caitlyn and Christian try out the well pumps to get some water. Christian decided he didn't want to REALLY have to do that every time he wanted water for something. His teacher, Mrs. Fisher, is on the right side of the picture.

My son....
Does not enjoy sleeping in new places. This picture was taken around 9 am...he had only been asleep since about 5am!! We stayed at my aunts house the night before Glendale days. Christian was in the same room we were...mistake # 1 and he has had trouble with shadows and stuff lately so being in a new place was mistake #2. We had a VERY LONG night and Baylor was luckily in another room or all 4 of us would have been up all night.
My son also loves horses!! What could make his Tex any prouder?!?! This is Mandy, Sable and Christian before their ride.
Christian had the best time and my Uncle Willie (my mom's brother) even rode with him a little while. It was a perfect fall day and everyone enjoyed being outside.
Who knows...maybe some horseback riding lessons are in our future?!?!

Glendale Days
Mam-ma, Pap-pa, me and Kim at the parade. It was great to get to see them and spend a little time. Pap-pa is getting weaker every time we see him so say a prayer for his health.
Baylor loves her Mim (or Mi as she calls her)

Every third Saturday in October we load up in the car and go to Glendale, Kentucky. It is a small town near where my grandmother and aunt live. The crowds that attend this big festival increase the size of the town by at least three times the normal amount. There is always a parade with clowns, cars and more tractors than you could ever imagine!! The pic to the left shows Christian looking at a huge firetruck as it passes by. You can also see my Aunt Judy and cousin Mandy along with KayKay, Baylor and Mim. There are crafts and food as far as your eye can see. A group of ladies makes chili every year that people line up for (they brew it for 24 hrs prior to the festival). This was Jeff's first experience with Glendale days...I'm not sure he was all that impressed, but now he knows what we've been talking about all these years:)
