Minnie Mouse (AnnaKate) and Thomas (Christian)
Our cute Lil Ladybug--Baylor, I'm so thankful for you (& brother too)

WHY?!?!

Forget the park!!! My son for the second time in two days decided to go beside the potty instead of in it!! He pulls down everything and is ready to go, but he turns and does it the wrong way!!! That means pants, underwear, socks and shoes all covered in PEE. It makes for one very irrate mommy, b/c I feel like he knows what he is doing. What do I do?!?!

Trunk-R-Treat

Otter Creek knows how to have some Halloween fun!!! It is so cool to be able to see our church family do such fun things together. Tons of kids from Otter Creek and Wayne Reed came to our annual Trunk-R-Treat and loaded up on CANDY!! Mim, Nana and Papa all came to join in the festivities. I have to say I enjoyed myself more this year not being on bedrest and wondering if my sweet baby girl was ok. This year I could see her sweet face and show off both my Lil Ladybug and Thomas the Tank Engine. I'll post more pics later--we're off to enjoy the pretty day at the park:)

Parade of Bible Characters

You have to look really close on stage...but there is my little Adam and Eve. It has been a tradition for (who knows how many) years at our church to have a Parade of Bible Characters the Wednesday night before Halloween. The children (with much help from the parents) dress up as obvious or obscure bible characters or concepts. They are to come up with three clues to be read to the audience and then we all try to guess. Christian and Baylor were very cute, even if they were very obvious, as Adam and Eve. Each one had an apple, Baylor had a stuffed snake and I dressed them in greenery. It was fun...some people get really creative. One boy had pieces of paper with numbers written all over him--He was the book of Numbers. A family that has gone through a lot of medical stuff with their kids were all dressed up as patients in a hospital--there clues led you to fiqure out that they were the concept of PATIENCE. After all the children got their moment on stage one of our childrens ministers led us all in some of the songs they sing in Children's Worship on Sunday mornings...it was so sweet to see even the smallest kids (Christian included) try to sing all the words and do the hand motions. It is nice to take time to remember that God gave us everything and provides all we need.

Why they say my name?

We were in Louisville this weekend for my sisters first wedding shower. She got lots of cool stuff and Travis had a 'tool party' that got him some cool manly stuff too. We were at my parents church and they were singing "We are One in the Spirit". Christian is not normally in service with us and is always amazed to watch and listen. When we reached the line 'and they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, yes they'll know we are Christians by our love' my son looks up at me with the most confused look on his face and asks "Why they say my name mommy?" I smiled and said that people that love God are called Christians too--He listened to the song a few more minutes and just said "oh" (his fave response lately). How do you describe that to a 3 year old? Just wait until he hears "I am a C, I am a C-H, I am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N" What do you do...we loved the name and he'll understand someday.

Walden Farm

Saturday afternoon was spent with Nana, Papa and Uncle Jeremy at Walden Farm. We saw BIG pumpkins, scarecrows and a great corn maze. Christian had fun playing with a kid sized tractor, farm toys and a kid sized haybale maze. We saw cows, chickens, rabbits, pigs and a turkey. Baylor had fun just watching all the action...she is our people watcher. My wonderful husband endured all the pics I wanted and even dressed for the occassion. (I made him put on jeans instead of shorts)
Nana and Papa enjoyed watching the kids and Christian made Uncle Jeremy follow him everywhere--it was a fun afternoon:)
