Family day with an Apache

The last Friday in June was Family Day at Ft. Rucker for the Apache class. We were able to meet some of Travis' classmates, climb all over one of the helicopters and sit in on one of their briefings. It was a long hot day, but we enjoyed getting to see a little bit of what Travis does on post. He is almost done with his traning and they will be moving to Savannah in a month.
Wrestling with Travis is always part of the fun too

Mim and Travis gave the boys these shirts for Christmas...it was not planned to be wearing them, but they sure looked cute.
Baylor wasn't sure what to make of all of it...
On the other hand, Christian LOVED it. He had to look at everything and try to figure it all out

Baylor is so over doing any more pictures
The whole crew...Travis' mom, dad, nephew Canyan, really close friend Jackson, KayKay, Tex, Mim, Travis and us
The boys were given some shells that an Apache had shot
Dad and the crowd watching them fly and shoot
Unfortunately there were some maintenance issues and Travis never flew that day. We watched several others fly around and shoot at some targets.
The rest of the families left on Saturday morning, but we stayed to hang out an extra day. We drove out to Dothan for a little shopping, a movie and dinner. This is Baylor being super silly in the car.
Is this boy cute or what? I'm sure glad he's mine:)
Christian loved hanging with Uncle Travis
So sweet...your days in Enterprise on numbered:)
Christian and his new 'hat'

This is what the kids and I did for a couple hours on the drive home. It's amazing how much better time you make when they aren't asking to stop all the time...Thanks to Jeff for driving that long road all by his lonesome:)

Destin: July 2008

We just got back from a trip to see Mim and Travis. Poor Jeff had to stay home at work while the kids and went with my parents. We met Travis' family and the Holts who are like family to the Clonch's. All total we had 13 adults and 6 children spread over 3 condos. It was crazy when we all tried to be together, but it was fun!! This picture is probably my favorite of Baylor from this trip. You can just hear the laughter when you look at it:) She was in a pretty good mood that night considering she hadn't napped.

This is a good one of Baylor with Mim and Travis...Christian was off being a big boy with Canyan and Jackson sitting in the front row.

And these show you what was probably Christian's
favorite evening. He and Travis wrestled for about 45 minutes!! They were both sweating by the end. Baylor tried to get in on it a couple times, but she decided it was too dangerous for her and cuddled up between me and KayKay. It was funny to watch and Christian loved EVERY second of it. I think we tired Travis out that evening.

Keep scrolling for multiple posts about the trip...you may not care to see all of it, but I try to get everything in here for memory sake.

We (really mom and dad) took Mim and Travis out one night. They picked P.F. Changs b/c it's one of their very favorite places, but they don't have one in their little Alabama town. We had fun just hanging out with them for awhile and got some super cute pictures.

Hello blue eyes!!! Some girl is going to melt in those someday
I love this one of the three of us
If you look under the horse you can see the kids

Spring Break 2008 part 1

We went to see Mim and Travis!!! Here is a picture of their little townhouse. They (mim) have it decorated so cute. I was a bad sister and never got a picture of the two of us together:( but we all had so much fun. She even let Jeff and I have a day in Destin which is only an hour and a half from her house. Jeff and I enjoyed eating, shopping and just being together with no kiddos. Her and Travis are both great cooks and we were spolied by all the good food...Mim, don't forget to send those recipes!!! Here is their baby...Foxy was the hit of the trip. Both kids had so much fun playing with her. Baylor loved to run and then tell her to stop chasing her. She'd say "No, Bosy, No" (that's what it sounded like anyway)
She's only a few weeks old and is still so small
Christian tried to play Guitar Hero, but it's just a little too hard for his little hands. Who am I kidding?!?! It's hard for me to do:)

Spring Break 2008 part 2

We went to the Aviation Museum that is on base...it shows aircraft from the earlist to the most recent. There was even a hot air balloon basket that was used as a spotter for guns on the ground before they had the planes Our little family

There was a cockpit you could get inside
I think these planes were WWI or II

more pics from the museum

Christian and Baylor in front of a Vietnam era aircraft
Here Travis is demonstrating something about flying...that boy knows so much that means absolutley nothing to me:)

What cute little pilots

Mim said they call this the mini-van of the sky b/c you can fit so many soldiers inside

Spring Break 2008 part 3

Here Christian is sporting Uncle Travis' flight helmet and you can see Travis in his uniform I love the little smirk on Christian's face here...it's like he knows he is a big deal
We drove out to an airfield to watch some of the soldiers flying just like Travis does
If you look real close you can see a helicopter
