Destin 2010

We had the best time on our beach trip!!! Two years ago we went with our good friends, the Shipps, and decided to repeat the trip +1 this year. Sweet little Levi turned one just before we went. The kids and adults all had so much fun being together. We spent a whole lot of time on the beach every day with some pool time thrown in for good measure:) My sister came over for a few days to join in the fun and gave us a much needed dinner away from the kiddos. We had some dinners in and some out. We had the best weather all week long--a little cloudy some afternoons, but never rain. We were a little worried about the oil spill making its way towards us, but we had clearer water than we have had in all the years we have been going to Destin.

I think we will repeat the trip again in a couple more years:)

The kids all had so much more fun on the beach this time

Christian wanted to be buried in the sand

Levi took his morning nap on the beach every day

Me and my sweet boy

Baylor and Lila

Baylor ended up needing a hat to shield that pretty face from all the sun

Christian was brave enough to try a boogie board for the first time...he had so much fun riding the waves. He didn't even mind when he wiped out

Levi getting ready for some serious sand time

a lot of popsicles were eaten

Mim had several dance parties with the girls:) The Shipp girls love Taylor Swift (Ruby can be heard bursting into song at all sorts of times during the day) and Baylor loves Party in the USA

Pool time was a hit too...the kids and adults all had fun playing around and cooling off

CANNON BALL

"surfing" on Mim

Mim and "her kids"

Levi LOVED his car float

Christian practicing his swimming

The kids had this awesome bedroom where they could all sleep together. They did well...for the most part. We had a couple nights we had to go back in to get everyone settled, but once they were asleep they slept hard til morning.

She doesn't look too sleepy does she?

Wednesday evening the girls helped make chocolate pudding

and Christian ate :)

look at those beautiful blue eyes!!! We love Mim soooo much

Thursday evening we went to a pizza place in Destin Commons. Very yummy and gave the kids the energy they needed for all the playing they would do later.

Right now he's thinking "I wish I could go"

A ride on the train is a must

All Aboard and ready to go

Watching the kids play

Levi had so much fun...finally something he could walk, crawl and run around

What cuties:)

Playing in the fountains is always fun

Friday we took our kids to Test Track to have a little family fun. We did go carts, games, rides and bumper boats/cars. The kids had fun and so did we:)

Look at these faces-such concentration

Me and Baylor ready to take on the boys in Bumper cars...she thought it was so funny every time we ran into each other

The kids enjoyed their plain ride

I have a picture of him riding this on every trip....sadly he will be too tall next time:(

Bumper boats were a must on this hot hot day

a little time in the Batmobile

We found the cookies w/ edible markers again. The kids did these when we went 2 years ago, so it was fun to have again

We were sad to leave but had the best week with our friends

Pajamas and Popicles

Our super cool, always wanting to be fun life group had a pajama party!!! Heidi made an INCREDIBLE breakfast (for dinner) and we just had fun hanging out

Look at all those sweet girls

Lexi even had a lovey that matched her pj's

All the girls and boys...they humor us

Rain once again spoiled our outdoor plans...B's Popsicle party had to be moved inside:( The kids still had fun and recited ALL their bible verses from the whole year

You can barely see the bottom, but we did this apron for Dele's present. One super talented mom put a watering can applique and embroidered the kids names as stems. I helped get their hand prints as flowers and the top said Mrs. Dele's garden. SHE LOVED IT

I could not have asked for a better year for my sweet girl. Dele is such a special person to our family. She has helped Baylor in so many ways

End of school

Baylor got to hang out w/ Kiki and Gracie while I was at school. We had to show off our Bon Jovi shirts. The weather wasn't all that great so a majority of the field day activities were moved inside. K-2nd grade all went through the stations at the same time, so I was able to snag this picture of Christian and Bailey.

Did your elementary school have a rock wall?

Christian and Hayden went through all the stations together...this was the kangaroo hop

Dressing up as fast as you can

Sack race

That same week all the Nolensville 1st graders (and a couple other schools) went to the zoo. Another mom and I were in charge of these 7 crazy kids

someone was nice enough to share their left over nectar with our kids. They all took turns feeding the birds

Logan, Hayden and Christian

The next week was our end of the year party...ice cream, cupcakes and candy galore

It's hard to believe that these two almost seven year olds have been friends since the womb:) Not sure we'll be lucky enough to be in class together next year, but you never know

Our butterfly experiment

For Easter the kids received a butterfly house and we ordered our caterpillars the next week. They came in this special jar with little holes in the top and food in the bottom. They grew and ate and ate and grew for @ 7 days. Then they turned into pupas...

They stayed in their cocoons for another 7-10 days. We woke up one morning to find 5 "painted lady" butterflies!!! We enjoyed watching and feeding them. It was eventually time to set them free.

We hope you found a good home...good-bye little butterflies

The rest of April

Jeffery turned 35!! and I tried to surprise him w/ a party at Arrington Vineyards. The weather did not cooperate so we ended up at my parents empty house instead...still a fun time.

Baylor said the sweetest little prayer before one of her soccer games

and Nana and Papa came to watch

Christian and Jeff went camping at the zoo. Here he is trying out his new sleeping bag before they went

The kids helped Jeff plant some flowers in the front. Baylor REALLY was into it and is so proud of her pretty flowers. I need to take an after picture to show you just how pretty they are
