Finishing up Christmas

Baylor had her last OC Christmas Program

followed by a fun party in her classroom

Mrs. Anna gave them all special ornaments

The big man came for a visit...

and these silly girls always have fun together

We snagged a picture with Lanie and Ryan (our carpool buddies)

Christian had a party at school too. Mrs. Sentell was due THAT day, but didn't have sweet Sarah until a couple days later. We were so glad she was able to be with us til the end of the semester.

Special Events

Christian's sweet teacher is about to have a baby girl any day now. The class threw her a baby shower last week and I helped. The class gave baby Sarah a kick and play piano and some rattles. A few kids brought in their own gifts too.

Christian gave her this fleece dress to keep her warm

While I was helping at the baby shower...Baylor was at church helping break ground for the new school building. It has been a long hard fight to get the school moved to the same property as the church. We are having to build a whole new building to meet all the new codes for schools and such. The kids all had hard hats and little lanterns. One of Ms. Pat's big lessons for children AND adults is "you can be preparing the path for the child or the child for the path" So our fund raising efforts were entitled Lighting the Path.
Another mom was nice enough to take her and these cute pictures

OC Open House 2010

Baylor in the pumpkin patch and with Daddy

This is Mrs. Anna...she took over the class when Mrs. Amanda had to leave for another school. Baylor has taken to her quickly and she still LOVES going to school

I was busy talking and only took one picture of Baylor with her friends...this is Mary Adeline and they have become good playmates quickly

Gentry's Farm

Baylor's first field trip (ever) was to Gentry's Farm. We have never made it out to this one, so it was fun for both of us. The weather was beautiful and the kids all had a great time. We ate lunch by a lake, looked at farm animals, learned how pumpkins grow and went on a hayride.

This was also Mrs. Anna's first week with the kids. Mrs. Amanda received a full time offer at a local elementary school. We were so sad to see her go, but look forward to our time with Mrs. Anna

Listening to our instructions before playing in the troughs

Cate, Baylor and Caroline

In this barn were activities for the kids to play and pretend. Our guide is giving us the rules...

An area to play farmer (most of the boys made a bee line for this)

a spider web to crawl through

a cafe where the kids served up some yummy food (the girls loved this one)

and a weaving center (Emma and her mom)

Brax serving up some yummy vegetables

a view from one of the barns...God made such beautiful things

This was posted at the beginning of the maze

The girls waiting on the hayride. We saw tons of pumpkins and cows on our ride. We even threw some "cow candy" (mis-shapen pumpkins) out and they LOVED it.

Hunting for that perfect pumpkin

all the 4/5 year old classes were there so we snagged a picture with our good friend Ryan too

Back to School 2010

Time for 2nd grade already?!?!? I really can't believe my sweet boy can be that old, but here we are at the start of another school year. How could anyone one not fall in love with those eyes?!?!
We had to find the coolest bag. He wanted one to wear across his shoulders (some boy converted his backpack straps last year) and I found this super cool Star Wars one.

Posing for a quick shot with me:)

We are in Mrs. Sentell's class. I was a little bummed that not a single person from his class last year was on the list, but it didn't seem to bother him. One boy from church is in there and we are looking forward to knowing him better. If you look close at her middle you can tell Mrs. Sentell will be leaving us half way through the year to have a baby.

already working hard...he talks a big game about not wanting to do work, but he secretly loves learning. He is always trying to figure stuff out.

It was beautiful ALL day long until 10 minutes before the bus was to arrive. So who is the idiot standing out in a strengthening monsoon waiting to get a picture?!?! Me of course!!! Even if it's rainy I had to have my "getting off the bus" shot

and here he is rushing out into the rain

The next day my sweet girl was all ready for her Snoopy Day. OC has a tradition of letting the kids come "snoop around" their new classroom and meet the teacher. It makes me sad to think this could be our last one:(

Playing on the "big kids" playground

Our best friend...who knows what kind of trouble these two will cause.
This pic was taken just moments before a very un-fun event: Caroline got too hot on the playground (heat has been dangerously high here for the past couple weeks) and threw up all over her mommy and Mrs. Amanda's carpet :(

We are so excited for our year in PreK with Mrs. Amanda

They told us at Snoopy Day that her class would come in the front. I wasn't ready for that...my little girl going up those BIG stairs. She loved it

Getting ready for pick up
