Our butterfly experiment

For Easter the kids received a butterfly house and we ordered our caterpillars the next week. They came in this special jar with little holes in the top and food in the bottom. They grew and ate and ate and grew for @ 7 days. Then they turned into pupas...

They stayed in their cocoons for another 7-10 days. We woke up one morning to find 5 "painted lady" butterflies!!! We enjoyed watching and feeding them. It was eventually time to set them free.

We hope you found a good home...good-bye little butterflies

The rest of April

Jeffery turned 35!! and I tried to surprise him w/ a party at Arrington Vineyards. The weather did not cooperate so we ended up at my parents empty house instead...still a fun time.

Baylor said the sweetest little prayer before one of her soccer games

and Nana and Papa came to watch

Christian and Jeff went camping at the zoo. Here he is trying out his new sleeping bag before they went

The kids helped Jeff plant some flowers in the front. Baylor REALLY was into it and is so proud of her pretty flowers. I need to take an after picture to show you just how pretty they are

Easter 2010

I love celebrating Easter with my family. The kids have begun to understand what it is all about (to a point) and I enjoy taking time to remember what HE did for me. I spent some time that weekend watching THE PASSION-never easy to watch, but a good visual reminder of the sacrifice. As a mother it is even more heartbreaking to think of Mary watching her son go through all the torture and abuse.

Our service that morning was great. We had a choir along w/ the normal praise team. Day lilies were all across the stage and a cross was hung in the middle draped with flowers.

Baylor was not in much of a picture taking mood, but you can still see the cuteness:)

We spent the afternoon with our AWESOME neighbors. We all pitched in to make a yummy lunch and indulged the children in one more hunt

The Easter bunny made a visit to our house that morning. He left baskets FULL of all sorts of goodies...bubbles, T-shirts, coloring books, movies...

Trying out the new kaleidoscopes

and Baylor has new 'food' to feed her baby

It rained Saturday morning, so they moved the egg hunt at church indoors. The kids didn't care one bit. I forgot to ask if any adults found a chocolate surprise during service the next day...

Our favorite friend:)

They did let the "big kids" hunt out on the playground. Only someone as tall as Christian could have found this egg

Our good friend Lila

Lighting may not be the best, but those are some cute smiles

On Good Friday we dyed eggs (with our good friend Caroline) and talked about why we were doing all this celebrating to begin with

Baylor's class party was at her friend Kyle's house. It was the perfect spot for a fun day outside.
We all played outside in the BEAUTIFUL weather

Found one!!!

Everyone make a silly face

Christian's reading just keeps getting better and better!!! He is currently devouring every Magic Tree House book ever written:) He also finds time to read to his sister every now and then

Our friend Macy came over for a play date and they made a cake

We had our first came of the season...always so fun to watch

These two love being together!!!
